Although Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons earned their first win on Sunday and finally saw what they were expecting out of their offense all year, the season is all but over and they will need to start looking towards the future.
Already with a head coaching change following the firing of Dan Quinn, Atlanta is sitting in last place in the NFC South and has a very long and difficult road to get back into the mix.
While some will cry that so many of their games have been close and that if the team can close out they still have a shot to compete this year, that is a recipe for short-term and long-term struggles. Atlanta is not good enough to win the Super Bowl and likely will not be anywhere near the playoffs at the end of the season.
With that in mind, it is time for the team to look towards the future and make the tough moves that will provide success.
