What To Expect From Philip Rivers In 2020 With The Colts
This is the first time in a long time the Colts have been aggressive about spending money. While some fans didn’t like the move to sign Rivers, he is a huge upgrade over Brissett. He may not win a Super Bowl in Indianapolis, but he will make them competitive.
Here are three stats that Rivers should end up with in 2020, assuming he stays healthy.
Fewer Than 12 Interceptions
Rivers had a turnover problem with 20 interceptions last season. That is a big reason why fans in Indianapolis were concerned about the move. Due to having a much better offensive line with the Colts, Rivers will trim those interception numbers down to 12 or fewer.
32 Or More Passing Touchdowns
There are also some questions surrounding the weapons that Rivers will have at his disposal. However, he has a legitimate superstar in T.Y. Hilton to go along with talented young receivers in Michael Pittman Jr. and Parris Campbell. A two tight end setup of Jack Doyle and Trey Burton will also help him reach 32 or more touchdowns on the season.
Right Around 5,000 Passing Yards
With the improved offensive line, a dangerous group of weapons, and a talented running game, Rivers is going to rack up more yardage this season. Jumping from 4,615 to 5,000 passing yards isn’t a massive jump, but it’s a jump nonetheless. Rivers is primed for a bounce-back season and Colts fans are going to like what they see.
