2. Trade For Buccaneers’ Tight End O.J. Howard
This is an option that has been tossed around quite a bit over the last 24 hours. With the Buccaneers making an aggressive trade to acquire Rob Gronkowski from the New England Patriots, O.J. Howard is likely very available on the trade market.
The Packers decided to release veteran tight end Jimmy Graham earlier this offseason. Austin Hooper was a free agency target, but the Packers weren’t able to get a deal done with him. Currently, they have Jace Sternberger penciled in as their starting tight end.
Howard would give the Packers a very athletic option at tight end for Rodgers. He is just 25 years old, but has had consistency issues thus far in his career. Last season, he caught 34 passes for 459 yards and a touchdown.
It would likely take a second or third-round pick to get him, but the Packers’ offense would take a nice step forward with a tight end like Howard on board.
