Added a Reliable Secondary Receiver

The passing attack of the New Orleans Saints starts with Michael Thomas with the next two most productive receiving threats being Jared Cook and Alvin Kamara. They sorely lacked a reliable secondary wide receiver alongside Thomas with Ted Ginn failing in that role.

The Saints allowed Ginn to walk in free agency and managed to upgrade significantly by signing Emmanuel Sanders. They went from having an unreliable receiver with a drops problem to a savvy veteran with a precise route-running ability and reliable hands.

There is still questions surrounding who will step up and fill the third receiver role behind Thomas and Sanders though. The current expectation is that Tre’Quan Smith is best suited to fill this role but he’s certainly going to have to prove himself.
