Justin Fields is one of the many talented quarterbacks that will be available in the 2021 NFL Draft. Of course, everyone is viewing Trevor Lawrence as the top quarterback out of Clemson. However, whoever ends up taking Fields will be very happy with their selection.

There have been some struggles this season for Fields. Opposing defenses have made things difficult on him. But, he has still found ways to be successful.

This season with the Buckeyes, Fields has completed 72.6 percent of his pass attempts for 1,521 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Due to all of the strange circumstances that COVID-19 has brought, Ohio State has only played six games this year.

Last season, however, Fields completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,273 yards, 41 touchdowns, and just three interceptions.

All of that being said, he is a very intriguing prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft. Let’s take a look at four teams who would be ideal landing spots for Justin Fields.

4. New York Jets

Coming in last on the list, the Jets could be an ideal fit for Fields. They need a quarterback and may very well have lost out on Lawrence with their win over the Los Angeles Rams. If they get the No. 1 pick still, they are off of this list.

However, in the event that they stick at No. 2 overall, Fields could be their guy.

Sam Darnold is still young, but a change of scenery could do both him and the Jets good. Other options like Zach Wilson could intrigue New York more, but Fields has a big arm and the ability to be a franchise changing quarterback. This is a landing spot to keep a close eye on.

3. Indianapolis Colts

Let’s take a look at a team who would have to make an aggressive trade up in order to get Justin Fields. The Colts could be the best landing spot, albeit unlikely for the Ohio State star.

Philip Rivers was signed in free agency and has played solid football, but Chris Ballard and company need a long-term option. Fields could very well end up being drafted and start immediately for the Colts. Or, they could re-sign Rivers and sit the youngster for a year.

Fields would give the Colts their future under center. Jacob Eason is a decent talent, but nothing close to what Indianapolis would have in Fields. If the Colts trade up for Fields, it would make a ton of sense.

2. Atlanta Falcons

Next up, the Falcons are a team that could be looking to make a change at quarterback in the near future. Matt Ryan has been a star for a long time in Atlanta, but the franchise looks to be heading towards a rebuild. That is something that Ryan would not fit into.

Rumblings have been swirling that the Falcons could look to trade Ryan this offseason. Replacing him with Fields would make a lot of sense.

Fields would be able to come in as the day one starter and learn on the fly. He would have some elite weapons to work with in Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. The situation in Atlanta would be ideal for Fields.

1. Detroit Lions

Finally, the Lions are a team that would be exactly the kind of situation that Justin Fields should be hoping for. They would be able to start him if they trade Matthew Stafford or let him learn behind one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the game.

While the Lions have not been serious contenders in the NFC for awhile, they are building the right way. Bringing in a young talented quarterback like Fields could be the next big move they make.

Granted, there are quite a few areas that Detroit needs to improve. The quarterback position is one of them and Fields could be a fit in the NFL Draft.
