The Chicago Bears are expected to take quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft on Thursday, which has created mixed feelings.

Some feel that Williams will end up being one of the best players in football. Others think he will end up being a massive bust.

Count former NFL offensive lineman Willie Colon in the former group.

During a recent episode of The Carton Show, Colon said he has huge expectations for Williams.

Colon went as far to say that Williams is a “generational talent” and that he will end up becoming very well known nationally. However, he questions if he will be able to handle the pressure of being a No. 1 pick, especially in a big city like Chicago.

Williams, who played his collegiate football at USC, is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he threw for 3,633 yards, 30 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 68.6 percent of his passes. He also punched in 11 rushing scores.

The 22-year-old began his collegiate career at Oklahoma in 2021 but transferred to USC the following year. In his first season with the Trojans, Williams dazzled, totaling 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns and five picks while completing 66.6 percent of his throws. He added 10 scores on the ground.

Williams will be entering a great situation in the Windy City, as the Bears have a receiving corps that includes DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, not to mention tight end Cole Kmet. They also signed running back D’Andre Swift in free agency.

Chicago went 7-10 this past season, going 7-6 over its final 13 games. The Bears are considered by some to be a sleeper team heading into 2024, especially with Williams coming aboard.

We’ll see how Caleb Williams looks in his rookie campaign.
