Can New England Beat The Elite Teams In The NFL

The New England Patriots are in a different position this year where they are not the favorite in every game they play. So far, the Pats have been able to beat the teams they were supposed to beat, but then lost a close game to the Seattle Seahawks.

This will be a key game in determining if New England can be a contender for the Super Bowl or if they will just be fighting for a playoff spot.

NFL teams that win the Super Bowl usually beat some of the other top teams in the league during the regular season. At the very least Cam Newton and the Patriots will have to play a very close game against the Chiefs for people to take them seriously as AFC contenders.

If the Patriots end up losing by multiple scores people will start to write them off as a fringe playoff team and now as a threat. Belichick will have to use this mindset to his advantage, which is not a mindset he has had to embrace in a long time.
