Dwayne Haskins Was Relatively Underwhelming
While the outcome of the game was certainly favorable for the Washington Football Team, it’s important to dig deeper than just being satisfied with a win. The up-and-down play of Carson Wentz caught the attention of many, but Dwayne Haskins was relatively underwhelming in his own right.
By the end of Haskins’ performance, he finished by completing just 17-of-31 (54.8%) pass attempts resulting in 178 yards and 1 touchdown. It was intriguing that he took care of the football, but seeing him make a more dynamic impact going forward would be ideal.
To be fair, Haskins doesn’t have a ton of supporting cast talent to work with at the moment. The offense is established with the presence of Terry McLaurin in the No. 1 receiver role and Steven Sims Jr. has real potential. However, there are plenty of unproven backs that will need to step up.
Simply put, Haskins appears capable of providing the Washington offense with a greater impact. It will be important that he manages to improve throughout the season to be able to grow into being a solidified franchise-quarterback.
