4. Nick Mullens Outplayed Daniel Jones

When the Giants entered this matchup, the quarterback position was almost surely viewed as an advantage. Jimmy Garoppolo was sidelined due to injury and Daniel Jones is supposed to outperform Nick Mullens. Well…that wasn’t the case.

Jones finished his performance by completing just 17-of-32 (53.1%) pass attempts resulting in 179 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. Additionally, he recorded a fumble and it was one of the two the 49ers managed to recover.

The 49ers found the end-zone most frequently using the ground-game. However, Mullens managed to complete 25-of-36 (69.4%) pass attempts and finished with one touchdown throw and no turnovers.

Before the Giants manage to win many games this season, the play of Jones is going to have to improve. He’s been underwhelming against tough defenses and at some point, he has to raise his game against those types of challenges.
