3. 49ers’ Receivers Showed Potential

With George Kittle and Deebo Samuel sidelined for this game, Nick Mullens needed strong support from the rest of the 49ers’ pass catching options that were available to play. They did not disappoint.

It’s vital for Aiyuk to show real flashes of potential considering the 49ers traded up in the first round to be able to select him in the 2020 NFL Draft. He achieved exactly this by leading San Francisco with five catches and 70 yards.

The 49ers also received strong contributions from other supporting cast receivers. Kendrick Bourne wasn’t far behind Aiyuk with four catches for 63 yards. Meanwhile, Jeff Wilson Jr. chipped in three receptions for 54 yards and San Francisco’s sole receiving score.

If the 49ers can continue to receive strong play from their complementary receiving options, their offense can be quite interesting once the many of their leading offensive weapons return to the lineup.
