1. Injuries for 49ers Are Concerning
Heading into the season, the NFC West was widely regarded as the toughest division in the NFL. It has certainly lived up to those expectations. The Cardinals and Rams each finished in the bottom half of the standings in 2019 yet are off to 2-0 starts to the 2020 season.
There were already plenty of injuries the 49ers were dealing with entering this matchup. San Francisco did not have George Kittle, Richard Sherman, Dee Ford, Jason Verrett, and Deebo Samuel entering this week of NFL action. So adding more names to the injury report is troubling to see.
During the 49ers’ Week 2 win over the Jets, Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, Jimmy Garoppolo, Solomon Thomas, and Nick Bosa became the latest additions to the injury report.
The 49ers will need to dig deep and find a way to overcome the difficult circumstances injuries have caused. San Francisco has upcoming matchups with the Giants, Eagles, and Dolphins — all teams that have struggled to get wins to start the season.
