4. Drew Lock is Sorely Missed
There was a clear difference in quarterback play between the Buccaneers and Broncos in this matchup. That’s not truly a newsflash when considering Drew Lock was hurt and Tom Brady was involved.
Jeff Driskel earned the start in this outing for the Broncos and underwhelmed. He finished by completing just 17-of-30 (56.7%) pass attempts resulting in 176 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He lacks any sort of dynamic element for Denver.
Let’s not forget, Brett Rypien accounted for nine pass attempts and completed eight of those throws. However, his lone incompletion was a fatal mistake as it ended up being an interception.
It’s going to be difficult for the Broncos’ offense to compete with most teams until Lock makes his return to the lineup. For the sake of comparison, Tom Brady finished with 297 passing yards and three touchdown throws without having any picks.
