The Patriots’ Offense Is More Than Just Cam Newton

Cam Newton has been the talk of the New England offense, but that changed this week. Depending completely on a quarterback is not sustainable, so Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels have to be excited by what they saw.

A big game from Sony Michel was needed. He has struggled to get going and ended up with 117 yards on just nine carries. Michel also caught two passes for 23 yards.

If the Patriots can receive consistent production from Michel moving forward, they will be much more dangerous. Taking pressure off of Newton will open up the passing game more. Michel is the key X-Factor for New England.

Not only did Michel have a big game, Rex Burkhead put up a good game on the ground as well. Even J.J. Taylor had a solid performance on the ground. New England is much more than Newton offensively.
