3. Cardinals’ Defense Got the Job Done

In recent years, it has been a real struggle for the Cardinals to receive enough support from its defense in order to win many games. Arizona could be turning the corner in that regard if they can sustain the results they’ve achieved through two games.

No matter the opponent in the NFL, an effective game plan and sharp execution is needed to be successful week-in, week-out. The Washington Football Team showed that in Week 1 with their win over the Eagles.

Against the Cardinals…it was a different story. Arizona didn’t allow a single point in the opening half of this game and only gave up three points entering the final period. Washington did score a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t nearly enough to get a win.

It’s fascinating to think about the potential of this Cardinals defense as they continue to add talent to it. Additionally, the versatile threat in Isaiah Simmons has yet to get comfortable in the NFL and when that happens, the unit’s ceiling will raise.
