4. Baker Mayfield
The world has been waiting for Baker Mayfield to take the next step and this could be the year. The Browns are winning some games and that builds confidence. What also builds confidence in a young quarterback is taking care of the football.
This is something that Mayfield has not done in recent years but he is beginning to in 2020. Mayfield is not lighting up the stat sheet this season but that is not the most important thing.
Over the last two weeks, Mayfield has failed to throw for 200 yards. He has thrown four touchdowns, no interceptions, and his team is 2-0 in those games. That is what is important. Mayfield has seven touchdowns compared to just two interceptions this season.
If Mayfield takes that next step as a passer and decision maker, the Browns could have a real chance to end their playoff drought. This will need to be one of Mayfield’s smartest performances against one of the league’s best defenses.
