The San Francisco 49ers are heading into their Week 2 matchup on the road against the New York Jets with an 0-1 record after falling to the Arizona Cardinals last week in the season-opener. It was a rough way to start the season, but the 49ers have already moved on from the loss.
Jimmy Garoppolo put together a solid performance against the Cardinals and appears to have taken a step forward. Unfortunately, the running game was not as dominant as last year. That is something that Kyle Shanahan will likely focus on against the Jets.
Defensively, the 49ers are going to want to tighten things up. Kyler Murray wreaked havoc on them last week. Thankfully, the Jets are nowhere near as talented offensively as the Cardinals, which gives the 49ers a chance to test some new things out to get back on track.
At this point in time, the 49ers are heavily favored to beat the Jets this week. They won’t take this game lightly and will come in angry after losing in Week 1.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at four bold predictions for the 49ers this week as they take on the Jets.
