2. The Vikings’ Secondary Continues Struggles
It was clear that Aaron Rodgers would come out of the gate looking to send a message. Between the Packers trading up to draft a quarterback in the first round and people saying he’s no longer elite…let’s just say it was an unfortunate Week 1 matchup for the Vikings.
By Rodgers torching the Vikings’ defense, he put the vulnerabilities of the unit on full display. The cornerback group the Vikings put together was expected to struggle considering how young their options are, and they certainly lived up to that.
Based on the Colts’ Week 1 loss to the Jaguars, there’s still plenty their offense will need to iron out as the season progresses. The running game was bad but most importantly, the passing game lacked chemistry at times while in others, players just simply underachieved.
Shaking off the rust from not playing a preseason and having a strange offseason will be important for the Colts. They will have a legitimate opportunity to do so against a struggling Vikings’ corner rotation, resulting in another performance in excess of 300 passing yards, but this time, with at least three passing touchdowns to go with it.
