4. Yannick Ngakoue Has a Big Game
When the Vikings took on the Packers in Week 1, it marked the first game of Yannick Ngakoue’s tenure in Minnesota. It didn’t go quite as according to plan as both the team and the star pass rusher would have wanted as they lost and he didn’t perform all that well.
In Week 1, Ngakoue had what ended up being a completely empty stat line in 44 total snaps. That’s simply unacceptable for a player with his talent level and when considering the level of compensation the Vikings gave up in order to acquire him.
After starting his career with the Jaguars, Ngakoue has a strong familiarity with his former inner-division rivals. He will also have more of an understanding of his own team and that certainly will help him to put together a strong performance in Week 2.
By the time the game is over, Ngakoue’s impact in the box score should be apparent. Philip Rivers isn’t an agile quarterback and that’s something an effective edge rusher should take advantage of — resulting in what could be at least one sack along with plenty of hurries and QB hits.
