3. The Jaguars’ Defense Steps Up Against Deshaun Watson
There is a lot riding on Deshaun Watson’s shoulders every time the Texans take the field. If he doesn’t manage to put up superstar production, Houston’s chances of winning are severely diminished.
The Jaguars will have to slow down Watson and that’s no easy task. It’s not even easy succeeding on a few plays to bring him to the turf— making a sharp pass rush crucial on top of having pass coverage that stays engaged after plays get extended out of the pocket.
With an interim head coach taking over, there could be some situations when the Texans’ offense isn’t exactly a well-oiled machine. Expect the Jaguars to take advantage of those moments during this game in ways Jacksonville hasn’t quite achieved so far this season.
The Jaguars’ defense will manage to hold their own against Watson by getting to him for three sacks and forcing at least one interception.
