Sony Michel

The impact Sony Michel has made for the Patriots has been solid since being selected No. 31 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. He didn’t build off his impressive rookie season like some thought he could, but without Tom Brady running the show, it’s important he manages to do so in 2020.

There was a greater reliance on Michel in the Patriots’ offense in his second season but he achieved lesser results. His average of 4.5 yards per carry as a rookie dropped by 0.8 in 38 more carries last season. He will need to get that average back up even if teams are able to key in on him more.

The Patriots may need to rely on him more to produce greater results per attempt on a higher volume of opportunities. It will be pivotal for the trajectory of his career that he manages to accomplish this because he could become a true staple of New England’s offense if successful.
