New York Jets
For years, the New York Jets have lacked a formidable presence off of the edge. As a matter of fact, the Jets haven’t had an edge rusher record 10+ sacks in a single season since Calvin Pace achieved the feat with New York in 2013.
Just this past season, Jordan Jenkins led the team with eight sacks, while Jamal Adams — a safety — was second on the team in sacks with 6.5 of them. Given that, the Jets could absolutely use someone like Griffen to give them a spark in the pass-rushing department.
There’s no doubt that Griffen is questionable fit in Gregg Williams’ 3-4 defense. Still, regardless of his scheme fit, Griffen would be an immediate boost in New York’s anemic pass-rushing unit.
