Minnesota Vikings
Yes, the Vikings are the ones who allowed Griffen to test free agency in the first place. But it isn’t too late for them to configure a way to keep the longtime edge rusher.
Since being taken in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by Minnesota, Griffen has amassed 74.5 sacks, 86 tackles for loss, and nine forced fumbles. Just in the past six seasons alone, he’s contributed 57 sacks and 65 tackles for loss.
Rick Spielman — the GM of the Vikings — and Griffen himself haven’t ruled out the possibility of a reunion in 2020. Even though Minnesota is confident in Ifeadi Odenigbo to replace Griffen, they would be better off retaining the 32-year-old veteran for another season.
