Aaron Rodgers Gives Update About Future With Packers

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers‘ season is on life support heading into their Week 13 matchup with their rivals, the Chicago Bears. After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles last week on Sunday Night Football, their seventh loss in their last eight games, the Packers have only a two percent chance of making the playoffs.

Green Bay would need a lot to happen to qualify for the postseason. But, first and foremost, they have to win their remaining five games of the season to have any chance as that would get them to nine victories on the season.

As long as there remains any chance of the Packers making the postseason, you can be sure that Aaron Rodgers will be in the lineup. There were some questions about his availability as he is dealing with multiple injuries.

Rodgers suffered a thumb injury in Week 5 against the New York Giants, which he recently admitted was broken. On top of that, he is now dealing with a rib injury that was suffered against the Eagles and was bad enough to knock him out of the game in the third quarter.

Despite the chances being slim, as long as Green Bay mathematically has a chance to qualify for the postseason, Rodgers would like to be out there. But, he is open to discussing a change being made should they be eliminated. He also added that no decision has been made about his playing future beyond 2022 with the Packers or anyone else.

The change that would be discussed is getting Jordan Love some real game action. Love was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft but has played sparingly as Rodgers won the MVP award in his first two seasons in the league. He came on in relief of Rodgers against the Eagles and turned some heads with his performance, completing 6-of-9 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Green Bay has to figure out what to do with Love, whether he will be their starting quarterback of the future or if they should try and get some assets for him in a trade. Odds are we will eventually see him under center at some point to close out 2022. With the Packers heading into their bye in Week 13, that could be a good time to get Love ready to start games for the remainder of the season.
