Alabama is already experiencing a glimpse of what life would be like without Nick Saban at the helm. Recently, Isaiah Bond has taken a significant step by submitting his paperwork to join the NCAA transfer portal.

The news of Bond’s entry into the transfer portal was initially reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.

Bond, a talented sophomore wide receiver, showcased his potential by becoming a dependable playmaker for the Crimson Tide during the 2023 season. He amassed an impressive stat line, recording 48 receptions for 668 yards and contributing four touchdowns to the team’s success.

The potential departure of Bond through the transfer portal could deal a severe blow to Alabama’s receiving corps, as his skills and contributions will be sorely missed.

It’s worth noting that Bond might be exploring his options while Alabama conducts its search for the next head coach. The uncertainty surrounding the coaching situation may be a factor in his decision.

Regarding Alabama’s coaching search, ESPN’s Pete Thamel has reported that the university is giving serious consideration to Washington coach Kalen DeBoer. DeBoer’s impressive track record includes leading the Huskies to a remarkable 14-1 record during the recent season.

Once the Crimson Tide secure a head coach for the 2024 season, they can begin addressing any issues related to recruits and transfers. Until that crucial decision is made, the program will continue to navigate a period of uncertainty.
