Baltimore Ravens Acquire Brian Burns From Panthers In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

The Baltimore Ravens are left searching for answers after their devastating AFC Championship Game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but given their lack of cap room heading into the offseason, they may have a difficult time improving their roster through free agency.

As a result, the Ravens may have to turn to trades, and the Carolina Panthers may have a solution for them.

Star edge rusher Brian Burns.

Now, rushing the passer is certainly not one of Baltimore’s most pressing issues. After all, the Ravens racked up 60 sacks this season, which led the NFL.

However, loading up on defense is one of the best ways to contend in this league, and with Baltimore already owning one of the game’s best defensive units, it might as well continue to add to it.

Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department has mentioned Burns as a trade possibility for the Ravens this offseason, and you can see why some feel the Panthers may move him.

Burns is set to be free agent come March, but Carolina could always slap a franchise tag on him and then trade him to recoup some value for him.

Many felt that the Panthers would shop Burns around at the trade deadline back in October, but Carolina rebuffed all offers it received for him.

But now, with the pressure mounting, you have to wonder if the Panthers may change course and opt to move Burns rather than pay him on a substantial long-term contract.

The Ravens could trade a 2024 first-round draft pick, a 2025 third-rounder and young linebacker David Ojabo for Burns, which would supply Carolina with some great draft capital. Meanwhile, Baltimore would land one of the league’s most talented pass rushers.

Brian Burns posted 50 tackles and eight sacks this season, and in 2022, he racked up 63 tackles and 12.5 sacks.

Imagining Brian Burns on the Ravens’ front seven is scary, to say the least.
