Kyle Van Noy, Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed linebacker Kyle Van Noy on a two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Pat McAfee.

The deal is worth up to $9 million, per Ian Rapoport of NFL media.

This seems like a fantastic deal for the Ravens.

Van Noy enjoyed a solid year in Baltimore this past season, playing in 14 games and registering 30 tackles, a career-high nine sacks, a couple of forced fumbles and four passes defended.

The 33-year-old, who played his collegiate football at BYU, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He didn’t get much playing time with the Lions, who traded him to the New England Patriots midway through the 2016 campaign.

After having a limited role with the Patriots in 2016, Van Noy broke out the following year, recording 73 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He then went on to tally 92 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a pair of fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown in 2018.

By that point, Van Noy had established himself as a defensive playmaker, and in 2019, he posted 56 tackles, 6.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a defensive score.

That ensuing offseason, Van Noy linked up with the Miami Dolphins, where he totaled 66 stops, five sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Van Noy then returned to New England for one season in 2021 before joining the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022. He finally landed in Baltimore last offseason.

The Ravens have retained numerous key defensive pieces this spring, including defensive tackle Justin Madubuike. Van Noy is just the latest player to re-sign.
