The Baltimore Ravens are in need of some help in their receiving corps, and a former NFL executive thinks he knows exactly where the Ravens should look. He thinks Denver Broncos wideout Courtland Sutton is a name to watch.

“The Ravens are another team who could be looking for a wide receiver before the trade deadline. Courtland Sutton is a name to watch closely for Baltimore,” the former exec told the NFL Analysis Network this week.

Sutton is currently employed by the struggling Denver Broncos, who are just 1-5 and will more than likely be selling off some pieces between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

Sutton has been considered one of the top guys that the Broncos could move.

There was a time when Sutton appeared to be one of the top up and coming wide outs in football, as he hauled in 72 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance back in 2019.

However, the following season, Sutton tore his ACL in Week 1, and he has never been the same since. Still, that does not mean Sutton hasn’t remained fairly productive.

In his first year back in 2021 after the knee injury, Sutton caught 58 passes for 776 yards and a couple of scores. Then, in 2022, the Southern Methodist product snared 64 balls for 829 yards while reaching the end zone twice.

Through the first six games of this season, Sutton has logged 25 catches for 274 yards and four touchdowns.

The 28-year-old is under contract through 2025 and is earning a base salary of $14 million this season. He is slated to make a combined $26.5 million in base salary in 2024 and 2025.

The Ravens could certainly use Courtland Sutton, as their receiving depth behind Zay Flowers is pretty thin. Odell Beckham Jr. is a shell of his former self, and Rashod Bateman has largely been a bust since being taken by Baltimore in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
