It looks like the Baltimore Ravens will have tight end Mark Andrews back for the AFC Championship Game.
Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the Ravens have activated Andrews from the injured reserve list, meaning he will be eligible to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Baltimore initially designated Andrews to return from injured reserve before the Divisional Round, but the team did not officially activate him.
Now, he is apparently healthy enough to play.
Andrews has been sidelined with an ankle injury he suffered back in Week 11. The injury knocked the star pass-catcher out for the regular season, but the Ravens maintained slim optimism that he would be able to return for the playoffs.
The 28-year-old has made remarkable progress and will now be able to provide Baltimore with a significant offensive boost this weekend.
Andrews logged 45 catches for 544 yards and and six touchdowns this season.
The Scottsdale, Az. native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was selected by the Ravens in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
He entered the league the same year as Lamar Jackson, who became the club’s full-time starting quarterback midway through his rookie campaign. Andrews instantly became Jackson’s favorite target and has been his go-to guy ever since.
Andrews has made three Pro Bowl appearances thus far in his career, with his best season coming in 2021 when he hauled in 107 receptions for 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns. That performance also earned him a First-Team All-Pro selection.
Mark Andrews and the Ravens finished with the best record in football this year, earning themselves a first-round bye. Now, they will be playing for a spot in the Super Bowl.
