Not many people were giving the Cincinnati Bengals much of a chance in their Monday Night Football game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10. Cincinnati was heading on the road and listed as big as 10-point underdogs in the game.
But, that didn’t phase the Bengals at all. They went right into EverBank Stadium and gave the Jaguars everything they could handle and came away victorious. Cincinnati won the game 34-31 in overtime, evening their record to 6-6 on the season and keeping themselves in the thick of the playoff race in the AFC.
It was a truly incredible performance by quarterback Jake Browning, who is in the lineup because starter Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens. He picked apart the Jaguars’ secondary all evening.

Browning completed 32-of-37 passes for 354 yards and one touchdown, adding 22 yards and one rushing touchdown as well. There aren’t players who will ever produce a game that efficient in their careers; Browning did it in his second career start.
While certainly happy to help his team get a win, Browning knows that things are only going to get tougher from here on out. Opponents are going to start adjusting to what he and the Bengals have done in Burrow’s absence and try finding ways to slow him down in the process. But, he issued a bold message to the rest of the league, that he is only going to improve as well.
“It was good to have a solid performance under your belt, but I’m not planning on plateauing anytime soon,” Browning told reporters after Monday’s 34-31 overtime win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. “I think I can continue to get better. I think there’s going to be a lot of different looks thrown at me over the next couple weeks.”
“There’s always a new challenge,” Browning added. “And even the best of the best quarterbacks have been doing it forever. There’s always something new. There’s always some new game plan. There’s always some new adversity or whatever it is.” (H/T Heavy)
NFL News & Rumors: Jake Browning & Cincinnati Bengals Update
The Bengals will head back home for a massive game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14. If they want to continue climbing the standings in the AFC and take a Wild Card spot, winning this game would go a long way in achieving that.
The competition will be fierce for the Bengals from here on out. The remaining five opponents on their schedule all have a .500 record or better, as Browning and the team will have their work cut out for them to earn a playoff spot.
