The Cleveland Browns experienced a disappointing 2019 season after previously entering the year with high expectations. To kick things off in NFL free agency, they managed to sign Austin Hooper to add another element to the offense at tight end.
Hooper is coming off a career-year in practically across the board despite appearing in 13 games. He was targeted 97 times in the Atlanta Falcons’ offense, resulting in 75 receptions, 787 yards, and six touchdowns. His production made him one of the top options in an underwhelming market.
There was plenty of helpful additions the Browns made this offseason with Hooper being apart of it. Between making a change at head coach and general manager and addressing plenty of weaknesses on the roster, the team has real potential to be substantially improved.
In order for the Browns to experience a successful 2020 season, it’s pivotal the optimism from transactions translates to results on the field. They’ve won the offseason before and didn’t end up achieving success when it came time to win games.
Taking all of that into consideration, let’s take a look at what to expect from Austin Hooper during his first season with the Cleveland Browns.
