Christian Kirksey reveals massive goal with the Green Bay Packers

Christian Kirksey was signed by the Green Bay Packers on the first day of the NFL free agency negotiating window. While he may not be a household name, many think the Packers were able to get a steal by bringing him in.

Soon after his signing, Kirksey opened up a bit about signing with the Packers. He even revealed the massive goal that he has with his new team.

Kirksey is going to fit right in with the direction the Packers are headed. With an attitude like this, he is going to become a fan favorite very quickly. Adding him in with other star defenders like Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith, and Jaire Alexander will give the Packers a defense like they haven’t had in years.

Hopefully, injuries will not continue to be a negative factor in Kirksey’s career. He has struggled over the last two years, playing in just two games in 2019 and seven games in 2018.

Back in 2017, however, Kirksey played in all 16 games for the Cleveland Browns. He racked up 138 total tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and five defended pass. Kirksey also had two interceptions in 2018 in just seven games.

At 27 years old, there is plenty of time for Kirksey to turn things around with the Packers. If he can stay healthy and play up to his full potential, the Packers may very well have signed a star.

Expect to see Kirksey come in and make an immediate impact. He has the potential to be a major upgrade over Blake Martinez for the Packers. Brian Gutekunst has faith in him, and so should all of us.
