As we look ahead to the NFL offseason, could the Buffalo Bills pursue Alvin Kamara after the season?
It hasn’t quite been the season that the Bills would have hoped for this year. As we approach the NFL Playoffs, the Bills find themselves in a tough playoff race in the AFC. With a lot of competition in the conference, the Bills will have to finish strong for the rest of the season.
Due to the Bills not performing up to their standards, there has been a lot of speculation about what their roster might look like next season. For the last few seasons, Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs have been the foundation of the offense. However, this season, it has been more apparent that they could use some help.
Recently, Bleacher Report spoke about some potential off-season moves. Their article spoke about the Bills pursuing Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints.
While Kamara and the Saints have had a lot of success together, he has been rumored in trades recently, and the Saints might be looking to move on. Kamara did recently sign a contract extension, but the Saints do have an out without being hurt if they want to. In addition to potentially cutting Kamara, the Saints could always trade him as well with him under contract.
Kamara is still one of the best overall backs in the NFL, as this season he has totaled 508 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 60 receptions, 413 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.
While Kamara might not be as good as he once was, he could still really help the Bills’ offense next season. Kamara’s ability to be a receiver out of the backfield could be a great safety valve for Allen, while still having the ability to break some big plays.
With the Saints not having a great season, we could see them move into a bit of a rebuild or retool phase. If they do, expect Kamara to be available.
