Since being taken with the No. 4 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ezekiel Elliott has been the focal point of the Dallas Cowboys’ offense. Even with the Cowboys adding some more weapons this offseason, that shouldn’t change Elliott’s role in 2020.
Throughout the offseason, Dallas has retained Amari Cooper and were able to draft CeeDee Lamb with the No. 17 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. While the team’s passing attack becomes even stronger, Elliott figures to continue carrying the workload on the ground.
Without a doubt, Elliott should be regarded as one of the best overall running backs in the entire NFL. During the latter part of the 2019 season, Elliott admitted that he wasn’t the best running back in 2019, putting some added pressure on himself for next season.
When you’re at the level that Elliott is at, you have to continue to find ways to get even better than the year before. In light of that, let’s take a look at a few early goals for Elliott with the Cowboys in 2020.
