Blake Jarwin, TE
Aside from the 2018 season, the Dallas Cowboys have long benefited from the consistency of Jason Witten. That will no longer be the case considering he decided to sing with the Las Vegas Raiders during free agency. That presents an opportunity for Blake Jarwin.
It would be difficult for the Cowboys to turn to other options on the roster if Jarwin fails to handle the greater responsibility. The alternative options are underwhelming as Dalton Schultz, Blake Bell, and Cole Hikutini are also on Dallas’ depth chart at this spot.
The circumstances are quite favorable for Jarwin as a complementary receiving threat for the Cowboys. Having to worry about slowing down Ezekiel Elliott is difficult enough. When factoring in the trio of wide receivers Dallas has, the last item on the list is the tight end spot.
On the other hand, the Cowboys’ offense could be quite intriguing if Jarwin does thrive in 2020. He won’t become a matchup problem like a Travis Kelce level talent, but as long as Jarwin can make opposing teams pay for loading up on any individual player, that’s all that matters.
