Kellen Moore was retained by Mike McCarthy when selecting his coaching staff. This was a no brainer if looking at statistics alone under Moore’s offense. The Cowboys were the No. 1 ranked offense in 2019.

Despite their shortcomings with an 8-8 finish, there was no issue with scoring points. There was some inflation of numbers because the Cowboys played from behind in some of last season but overall they took a step forward from the recently fired Scott Linehan.

Moore brings familiarity. For guys like Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and Blake Jarwin, it helps tremendously. While McCarthy may change up the verbiage and language of the offense, Moore will still bring his creative playbook to the table.

The Cowboys have had weapons on the offense for the last few seasons and then decided to add the best wide receiver in college football in Cee Dee Lamb.

Moore is about to do more with the 2020 Cowboys.
