The Cleveland Browns are coming off a blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams this past weekend, and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons thinks time may be running out for the club to get it together.
Speaking about the Browns on his podcast this week, Parsons said that while he thinks the Indianapolis Colts are a team no one will want to face come playoff time, the Browns are a team that people should be concerned about for other reasons.
“This is a team that people might be worried about come playoff time. They might have to worry about the Colts. Especially with the Browns’ injuries and the big loss they had,” Parsons said. “I don’t know how long Amari Cooper is out and things like that. The Browns are still a really good team, but we don’t know how that’s gonna turn out. Let’s see how they battle this adversity.”
Cleveland is without Deshaun Watson for the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury. In spite of the fact that the Browns have an elite defense, their offensive issues may very well prevent them from earning a playoff berth.
“We don’t know how the AFC is gonna turn out,” added Parsons. “A lot of teams are 9-3, 8-4 and 7-5. … A lot of teams been taking a lot of upsets. This is going to be a very spicy side. Very spicy.”
The Browns themselves are 7-5 and are clinging to the seventh and final playoff spot in the conference. The Houston Texans are also 7-5 and are eighth by way of the tiebreaker. There are then three other teams that are 6-6: the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.
Things won’t get much easier for Cleveland in Week 14, as it will host the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. The Browns will then face the Chicago Bears, Texans, New York Jets and the Bengals to close out the regular season.
Cleveland also sits two games behind the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North.
Injuries seem to be catching up to the Browns, and it’s looking less and less likely that they will be able to snare an improbable postseason berth.
