Jerry Jones is well aware of the frustration among Dallas Cowboys supporters following another postseason letdown.

During the NFL Honors event tonight, Jones was pressed on what steps must be taken for America’s Team to break through and embark on a successful playoff run.

“Believe you me, no one in the world is more appreciative of how much we let the fans down by not getting it done against Green Bay. We gotta change that. And we’ll do everything to do it.”

However, it’s clear that actions will need to back up any promises or aspirations. Cowboys fans have grown weary of empty assurances about a brighter future; they’re yearning to witness tangible progress on the field.

Jones also addressed the departure of defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who has transitioned to the role of head coach for the Washington Commanders.

“We lost a heck of a defensive coach who is now going to be the head coach of the Washington team and they’re gonna be formidable because he’s a good coach. But I’ve been on the phone all afternoon with our future defensive coach. We’re excited about that. We’ve been working all the way flying out here on that.”

Reports suggest that Mike Zimmer, the former head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, is poised to step in as Quinn’s replacement.

The 2024 NFL season is a long time away from now, but the Dallas Cowboys have a lot to make up for from this season. It will be interesting to see how they fare. Jerry Jones can only hope that the team finally takes the step needed on the field.
