After being released by the Arizona Cardinals about a month ago, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is still seeking out his next opportunity. There were reports that his market wasn’t too hot when the Cardinals were looking for a trade partner, and based on how things have gone thus far as a free agent, those reports would seem to have been accurate.
DeAndre Hopkins has visited with a few teams but nothing has come to fruition. The Tennessee Titans hosted him a few weeks ago and most recently he went to Gillette Stadium to meet with the New England Patriots.
Just like anyone who is looking for a job, you have to sell yourself to potential employers. So, that is what DeAndre Hopkins recently did on social media. He took to Twitter, sharing a recruiting pitch for teams on what he would bring to the table.
What exactly DeAndre Hopkins means by that is unclear, but there are a few ways it can be interpreted. Given how talented and productive he is, DeAndre Hopkins could be insinuating that his presence would make things easier for his teammates on the field, which would be true.
Despite playing in only nine games last season, the former All-Pro still managed to catch 64 passes for 717 yards and three touchdowns. He would command attention from opposing defenses, opening up the field for his teammates.
After turning 31 a few weeks ago, DeAndre Hopkins could also be a mentor in the locker room. He has a wealth of knowledge to share with younger players and could help them improve their own game.
Both are certainly positives that he would bring to the table. Eventually, a team will step up to sign him and DeAndre Hopkins will have a new home for at least the 2023 season. Contenders such as the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills should not be ruled out as potential landing spots either.
