Their Defense Is Still Very Talented

Led by Von Miller, this defense is still a defense that has a ton of potential. During this years draft, the Broncos selected Bradley Chubb with the fifth overall pick. Chubb comes from North Carolina State University, where he started for three years. In those three years, he racked up 25 sacks, 54.5 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, and an interception. This year he’ll line up opposite of Miller and rush the passer. If Chubb can produce at a level anything close to his collegiate play, this pass rush can be scary good.

The Broncos are also very deep at the OLB position. We know Miller and Chubb are starting, but they also have Shaqil Barrett and Shane Ray. Both are also very talented pass rushers when healthy. If this group can gel from the get-go, the potential is through the roof for their ability to sack the QB. Their defensive line isn’t too shabby either, having Derek Wolfe and Domata Peko up front. Those two guys are very stout run defenders, which will be needed to go alongside their phenomenal pass rushers.

The secondary can still hold their own as well. They lost Aqib Talib in the offseason, but still have a couple guys who can make it hard on offenses to throw the ball in Chris Harris and Bradley Roby. Darian Stewart is still at safety and they added a weapon in Su’a Cravens who can play safety or linebacker which is a rarity in this league. If all three levels of their defense mesh well, we could see the return of an elite Broncos defense.
