Falcons: 3 reasons Calvin Ridley is primed for a breakout season in 2020

The Atlanta Falcons got off to a truly terrible start to the 2019 season but managed to rally down the stretch. There is plenty of reason for optimism regarding their chances heading into the upcoming season and Calvin Ridley is a key reason for that.

One of the hotter names mentioned among potential breakout candidates for 2020 has become Calvin Ridley. Many consider him as being primed to make the third-year leap to stardom alongside superstar Julio Jones.

The focus on Ridley’s potential to make a splash in 2020 hasn’t come from just outsiders of the Falcons organization. Both franchise-quarterback Matt Ryan and offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter recently expressed their belief that Ridley is due to take the next step as a player.

There were two wide receivers that took a leap forward in their impact in 2019 that Ridley could follow. For starters, the top of this list features Chris Godwin with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers along with Denver Broncos standout Courtland Sutton.
