Production Before Injury
A player being relied upon in a larger role doesn’t automatically mean things will pan out for them. It takes an actual ability to be able to handle the added responsibility and Calvin Ridley appears primed to be able to thrive doing precisely that for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020.
The pace Ridley was on track to achieve prior to going down with an injury was impressive. Had he appeared in all 16 games, his output would have resulted in 77.5 receptions, 1,065.6 yards, and 8.6 touchdowns.
Had Ridley went out and achieved those results, it’s very likely more analysts and fans would be talking about him even more leading into the upcoming season. Keep in mind, that was a pace that he achieved while filling a smaller role than what he appears on track for in 2020.
There has been no issue from Ridley when it comes to finding the end-zone during his career. Managing to rack up a higher-volume of yards would put him on an even plane with some some of the league’s top receivers forming an incredible duo with Julio Jones.
