The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL to start the 2023 season. They are 2-0, picking up victories over the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers to kick off their season.

In Week 3, they will be heading on the road for the first time to face off with the Detroit Lions. Detroit has already experienced the highest of highs, going into Arrowhead and defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2023 season opener on Thursday Night Football.

But, they were unable to build off of that success, as they lost in Week 2 to the Seattle Seahawks. With the Falcons now coming into town, you can be sure that the Lions will be a motivated bunch.

At least, that is what the Falcons are expecting. Quarterback Desmond Ridder recently opened up about what he and his teammates can anticipate when heading to Ford Field for Sunday afternoon. They know this isn’t a Detroit team of old.

“We know Detroit is coming off a tough loss,” Ridder said. “So we know their environment, what they preach, and what they’ve been taught over the past year of what they wanna be and who they wanna be. We know it’s gonna be a battle. It’s gonna be a tough fight. And we have to come prepared for that,” as shared by Kory Woods of Michigan Live.

Ridder has gotten off to a decent start this season, competing 68 percent of his passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. He has added another score on the ground, gaining 38 yards on 11 carries as well.

The Falcons are heading into hostile territory in Week 3 as the Lions want to bounce back from a disappointing Week 2 outcome. It is going to be loud in the dome, something Atlanta has not yet faced this season after playing their first two games at home.

This is a big game for Ridder, as he is 0-2 thus far in his career on the road. Getting his first one against an upstart Lions team to move the Falcons to 3-0 on the season would be an ideal way to get off the schneide.
