Fantasy Football: Buy-Low, Sell-High trade candidates for Week 3

Sell-High Candidates

James Conner (RB, Steelers): It was concerning for James Conner fans to see him get injured in Week 1 and Benny Snell excel with the touches he received against the Giants. But after Mike Tomlin said the two would split touches in Week 2, an early fumble by Snell led to Conner seeing nearly all of the carries for the Steelers.

Even though Conner finally looked good versus the Denver Broncos, rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown, it took a fumble from Snell for him to earn his workhorse role back. Also, there are still injury concerns with Conner, making him a risky start for the rest of the season. In light of that, people should sell high on the former third-round pick in fantasy football while they have a chance.

John Brown (WR, Bills): There are quite a few household names that are the leading scorers at wide receiver in fantasy football. At the same time, John Brown has quietly planted himself as the No. 9 in scoring through the first two weeks of the season.

It’s impressive to see both Stefon Diggs and Brown as top 10 scorers for the Buffalo Bills in their revamped passing attack with Josh Allen. However, unless you believe the Bills can continue to throw for 300+ yards and Allen will average 40 pass attempts per game all season, then you should hold onto Brown. But with Buffalo’s offense likely to come down to Earth soon, trading Brown for a higher price than what he’s worth would be a wise move.

Robby Anderson (WR, Panthers): Entering the 2020 season, everyone was buying stock on D.J. Moore with the arrival of Teddy Bridgewater under center. Even though Moore seemed to find his footing in Week 2, it was Robby Anderson who continued improving his rapport with Bridgewater.

Through the first two games of the season, Anderson has caught 15 of his 18 targets for 223 yards and a touchdown, proving that when you get away from Adam Gase, you can succeed in life. Still, even with Christian McCaffrey expected to be sidelined for multiple weeks, it’s tough to envision Anderson maintaining his spot as the fifth-best wide receiver in fantasy football.

Keelan Cole (WR, Jaguars): If you weren’t watching the games, you’d assume that Jacksonville’s passing attack was having success due to the connection between Gardner Minshew and DJ Chark. On the contrary, it has been Keelan Cole that has led the Jaguars in receiving to begin the season.

Cole has posted a touchdown in both games and he’s turned 11 of his 12 targets into 105 yards, giving him 33.5 points in PPR fantasy football leagues. In all likeliness, we’ll see Chark command more than seven targets (the number of targets he’s seen in the first two weeks). With that in mind, even if he won’t get you a large return, trading Cole before he regresses in production could be beneficial.
