Fantasy Football: Outlook for second-year WRs in the 2020 season

A.J. Brown

2020 projections: 72 receptions, 1,090 receiving yards, eight receiving touchdowns

Regardless of who you believe was the best rookie wideout in 2019, A.J. Brown was arguably the most productive of the bunch. Brown, who was Metcalf’s teammate at Ole Miss, would have a stellar rookie season with the Tennessee Titans last year.

While Tennessee’s offense lacked wide receiver options, Brown emerged as the team’s most reliable weapon, hauling in 52 receptions for 1,051 yards and eight touchdowns. He was the only rookie wide receiver to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in 2019. To put the cherry on top, he also posted a 132.5 quarterback rating when targeted (third-best in the NFL).

Furthermore, Brown would be a fantastic option in fantasy football, tallying 0.71 fantasy points per route run and 2.58 fantasy points per target (both were second-most in the NFL). With Ryan Tannehill throwing him the ball again in 2020, Brown should be able to build upon an impressive first year in the upcoming season.
