Deebo Samuel
2020 projections: 64 receptions, 850 receiving yards, six receiving touchdowns
Coming out of South Carolina, Deebo Samuel was a versatile weapon that could be effective in a variety of ways. Provided that, it didn’t take Kyle Shanahan long to discover the best ways to utilize him in the San Francisco 49ers revamped offense in 2019.
Altogether, the second-round pick from the 2019 NFL Draft would amass 57 receptions for 802 yards and three touchdowns through the air. In addition to that, Samuel would also rush for 159 yards on 14 attempts and score another three touchdowns on the ground.
Even with veteran Emmanuel Sanders in the offense, Samuel proved to be San Francisco’s No. 1 wideout, totaling 2.31 fantasy points per target (fifth-most in the NFL). Given that Sanders is no longer in the mix, Samuel is expected to see more usage with the 49ers next season, making him an intriguing option in fantasy football. However, it’s worth monitoring Samuel’s recovery from foot surgery this offseason.
