TEs to Start in Week 2
Colts’ Jack Doyle (vs. Redskins): Jack Doyle should be a big part of the Colts offense this season. The Colts have a lack of weapons on offense, allowing someone like Doyle to be a big contributor. In Week 1, Doyle had seven receptions for 60 yards. You can’t ask much more from a TE.
I like Doyle and Eric Ebron this week for the Colts.
Raiders’ Jared Cook (vs. Broncos): It looks like the Raiders will make a concerted effort to get Jared Cook heavily involved in the offense. Cook made a splash in Week 1 with nine receptions for 180 yards. I expect Cook to have success against the Broncos, who allowed 21.6 fantasy football points to TEs last week.
Bears’ Trey Burton (vs. Seahawks): As you can see, I’m all in on the Bears offense this week. Trey Burton is no exception, where I believe he can have a great week against the Seahawks. Burton only had one reception for 15 yards last week, but look for the Bears to try getting him acclimated in the offense this week.
TEs to Sit in Week 2
Bills’ Charles Clay (vs. Chargers): It’s hard to have any confidence in Charles Clay this year. First, he has second-year quarterback Nathan Peterman in Week 1 as his QB. First, Peterman struggles, then the Bills announce rookie, Josh Allen will be starting in Week 2.
Neither looked great last week against the Baltimore Ravens, therefore leaving Clay with no catches at all in Week 1. I don’t see it getting any better for him anytime soon.
Falcons’ Austin Hooper (vs. Panthers): Austin Hooper is a tough player to judge, just because of the lack of targets he gets. The Falcons offense should be a high scoring one, but quarterback Matt Ryan looks very inconsistent right now. It’s hard to trust anyone besides wide receiver Julio Jones in the Falcons passing game right now.
