Fantasy Football: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Recommendations for Week 2

USA TODAY Sports

WRs to start in Week 2

Browns’ Josh Gordon (vs. Saints): It seems like we’ll see Josh Gordon actually start this week. Last week, he was used sparingly, catching one pass for 17 yards and a touchdown. At least he made the best of his opportunities. Gordon faces a Saints defense that looked atrocious, and until they figure things out, I’ll happily play guys against them.

Bears’ Allen Robinson (vs. Seahawks): Allen Robinson looked solid in his Bears debut. Robinson had four receptions for 61 yards. Of course you would want more, but the chemistry between him and quarterback Mitchell Trubisky should improve.

You could see a nice week to improve that chemistry this week against a depleted Seahawks secondary.

Broncos’ Emmanuel Sanders (vs. Raiders): Emmanuel Sanders looked very good with Case Keenum as his QB last week. Sanders had 10 receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown. This scored him 29.5 fantasy points, leaving him as the fourth highest-scoring WR in Week 1.

Look for Sanders to repeat that success against the old Raiders.

Under-the-Radar WRs in Week 2

Texans’ Will Fuller (vs. Titans): It looks like the Houston Texans will be getting Will Fuller back this week, as he has practiced this week so far. Fuller was an explosive weapon for the Texans last year, averaging 15.1 yards per reception and adding seven touchdowns. I believe he can be a big part of this offense again, starting in Week 2 against the Titans.

Dolphins’ Kenny Stills (vs. Jets): Kenny Stills looked like the No. 1 WR for the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. Stills had four receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns. This stat line led him to being the eighth highest-scoring WR in Week 1. Of course, the touches are low, but if he can score like that, it’ll make up for the lack of touches.

Stills could see another solid week as he faces a Jets defense, who allowed 50.3 fantasy football points to WRs in Week 1.

WRs to Sit in Week 2

Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald (vs. Rams): Larry Fitzgerald is still the guy in the Arizona Cardinals’ passing attack. In Week 1 he caught seven passes for 76 yards. I still think Fitzgerald has a great year, but this week it’s hard to see him having much success. He faces a Rams defense that allowed just five receptions for 43 yards to WRs in Week 1. Not much to say besides that.

Any Cowboys WR (vs. Giants): The Dallas Cowboys passing offense with Dak Prescott looked very iffy last week. It remains to be seen how they replace the production of now-free-agent wide receiver Dez Bryant and retired tight end Jason Witten from previous seasons.

In Week 1, it was Cole Beasley leading the way with seven receptions for 73 yards. The Cowboys face a tough New York Giants secondary in Week 2. Until the Cowboys prove they can throw the ball, I’m staying away from their WRs.
