The Kansas City Chiefs boast an offense loaded with players that can be viable starters in fantasy football. Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and even rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire are all being taken in the early rounds of fantasy drafts. But one player from Kansas City’s high-octane offense that is worth a look in later rounds is Mecole Hardman.
Hardman is entering his second season with the Chiefs after selecting him with the No. 56 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Coming out of Georgia, Hardman was a perfect fit for Kansas City’s offense, giving Mahomes another wide receiver that could create mismatches for opposing defenses due to his uncanny speed.
In his rookie season with the Chiefs, Hardman hauled in only 26 passes for 538 yards and six touchdowns. While he didn’t lead rookie wideouts in any of the major statistics, Hardman was extremely effective in his limited role with Kansas City a season ago.
There’s no doubt that en route to Kansas City’s journey to winning the Super Bowl, Hardman earned himself an expanded role in Andy Reid’s pass-oriented offense in the upcoming campaign. So what warrants Hardman as a late-round gem in fantasy football for the 2020 season?
