Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley has expressed his desire to see New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley don the Cowboys’ star.
Beasley’s wish stems from a sense of perceived disrespect by the Giants towards Barkley, and he envisions Barkley playing against his former team in a Cowboys jersey.
Beasley spoke out and started the recruitment process of bringing Barkley to Dallas.
“@Saquon I need you to go to Dallas. Getting to run it up on your old team who disrespected you is rejuvenating.”
As of now, Saquon Barkley is set to become a free agent in March, following his 2023 season where he played under the reserved franchise tag. The Giants are expected to exert every effort to retain Barkley, given his status as one of the premier running backs in the NFL.
However, even if Barkley and the Giants fail to reach a consensus on a new contract, a move to the Cowboys seems unlikely.
Dallas already boasts a formidable feature back in Tony Pollard, who also operated under the franchise tag during the previous season. The Cowboys are poised to make efforts to secure Pollard’s services as the new league year commences.
Despite the practical obstacles, dreams and aspirations continue to fuel the imaginations of fans and players alike, keeping the hope alive for unlikely scenarios in the world of professional football.
