The Dallas Cowboys offense, led by quarterback Dak Prescott, finds itself in a transitional phase, particularly concerning the running back position and along the offensive line.

This situation could prompt a focus on bolstering the receiving corps during the upcoming NFL draft.

There’s a dual objective in mind: enhancing Prescott’s options and securing insurance against potential losses, such as star receiver CeeDee Lamb. Therefore, it’s plausible that the Cowboys might prioritize selecting a wide receiver early in this year’s draft.

In a recent mock draft projection by CBS Sports on April 3, the Cowboys are projected to select Xavier Worthy, a standout receiver from the University of Texas, in the first round.

“Why can’t the Cowboys add a young, elite burner to the receiver group? Worthy staying in-state would be fun for Dak Prescott.”

Worthy’s addition would inject a new level of explosiveness into Prescott’s arsenal of targets. During his tenure at Texas, Worthy showcased his abilities by amassing 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and 5 touchdowns. His average of 13.5 yards per catch underscored his importance in the Longhorns’ passing game.

Teaming Worthy alongside Lamb presents an enticing prospect for the Cowboys, potentially forming one of the most dynamic receiving duos in the NFL for the 2024 season.

Worthy’s impressive performance at the NFL combine further solidified his draft stock. His record-breaking 4.21-second 40-yard dash showcased his elite speed, demonstrating his capability to stretch opposing defenses—a skill he frequently exhibited throughout his collegiate career.
